Custom Form Export: Consistent Export Fields
Exports of custom form submissions now include a consistent set of fields regardless of whether a submission is complete or incomplete. Previously, certain student details such as the Student Boarding House appeared in incomplete exports but were absent from completed form exports, leading to inconsistencies when schools attempted to reconcile data.
All custom form exports — individual form exports, form group exports, and incomplete submission exports — now include the following standardised fields:
Form Group Name.
Salutation.
First Name.
Last Name.
Email.
MSP ID.
MIS ID 1.
MIS ID 2.
Student First Name.
Student Last Name.
Student Email.
Student Year.
Student House.
Student Boarding House.
This change ensures a uniform data structure across all export types, making it easier to process and analyse form data without needing to manually cross-reference between different exports.
⚠️Important: The column structure of existing exports will change with this update. If your school uses automated processes or integrations that rely on the specific column order or field names in custom form exports, please review and update those processes accordingly.
Editor Updates: Upgraded to Version 4.6.0
The content editor used throughout My School Portal has been updated to version 4.6.0. This update brings several new formatting tools, resolves known display issues, and improves the overall editing experience across the platform — including admin content, email communications, dashboards, and the guardian-facing portal.
New formatting plugins
The following additional formatting options are now available within the editor:
Character Counter: Displays the current character count as you type, useful when crafting messages with length constraints.
Font Colour: Apply custom colours to text for improved visual communication in content and messages.
Font Family: Select from a range of typefaces to match your school’s style and branding.
Block Code: Format text as code blocks, suitable for technical or structured content.
Special Characters: Insert special characters and symbols directly from within the editor toolbar.
AI Response Error Handling: A helpful error message is now displayed when an invalid AI response is received.
Email layout improvements
Several issues affecting the display of email messages have been resolved as part of this update:
Emails sent from My School Portal now display at an appropriate width in recipients’ email clients, following modern email formatting standards. Previously, some emails appeared excessively narrow or were incorrectly centred.
The communications editor no longer exhibits intermittent layout issues that previously caused inconsistent formatting when composing messages.
Messages now display correctly on mobile devices, with appropriate spacing and padding rather than excessive margins.
Email template updates
Default email templates that have not been customised by your school will be automatically updated to reflect the new layout standards.
📌Note: Templates that your school has previously edited will not be modified.
Dashboard editor fix
The editor used within dashboard custom content widgets now fits correctly within its container. A layout issue that caused the editor to overflow or display incorrectly within the widget modal has been resolved.
Other smaller updates
The following changes are already live:
Documents in form descriptions are now visible when viewing or downloading submitted forms.
Parents’ Evening export enriched with meeting times, subject, staff, parent, and student details.
iSAMS detentions sync now removes instance records when deleted from iSAMS.
Clubs & Activities Bookings report gains Session Start and End Date columns.
School portal now shows the updated logo.
