We're excited to share the latest updates to My School Portal, developed over the past few months alongside our work on the new mobile app. This release includes improvements across the platform, with a focus on usability, communication tools, and trip management.

Editor Updates
Since releasing the new editors in February, we have continued to update our editor to improve its capability both within content and message creation. Thank you all for your feedback — while change isn’t always easy, we do believe that the new editor gives more functionality and flexibility to create engaging content for your users.
Updates to the digital assistant
We’ve made foundational updates to the digital assistant. These changes pave the way for more targeted and relevant communications in the future, helping you get the most out of My School Portal.
Stage payments for trips
We’re pleased to introduce Staged Payments for trips — allowing schools to offer instalment-based payment options. Admins can now choose between a single payment or multiple instalments, and parents will follow the payment structure set by the school.
Parents would make the initial payment as they do today and then make any further payments from the Trip Bookings page.
📌Note: This is the first phase of staged payments, with more enhancements planned.
Events – Minor Admin Tool Improvements – Menu Naming Convention
We’ve recently amended the wording in the Events Admin Tool to be clearer when creating Events and Trips. The following items have been renamed:

In addition, the Student Bookings page has been renamed to Trip Bookings for clarity, as this is the page required to view any trips booked and to make any additional payment instalments.
Various updates to the portal to improve the UI on mobile
We’ve introduced several improvements to enhance the mobile user experience. Key updates include:
Improved Parents’ Evening Booking – Easier booking and clearer viewing of scheduled appointments.
Enhanced Date Pickers – More intuitive and mobile-friendly date selection.
Updated File Uploader – A more streamlined and reliable way to upload documents from mobile devices.
These changes are part of our ongoing effort to make My School Portal more accessible and efficient on all devices.
Communications – Add New Email/Add New SMS Buttons
To reduce the number of clicks required when creating a message, we have removed the pop-up box when Add New Message is selected. You now have two separate button options from the Messages Admin tool.
