This article explains how to create a Documents page in Content Manager so users can view documents in the portal.

You can choose whether documents are grouped by category, which document groups appear on the page, and who can see the page.

Add a Documents Page

  1. Log in as an Admin user.

  2. Click Admin Control Panel.

  3. On the left, click Content, then click Content Manager.

  4. Next to the relevant Section heading, click Add new page.

  5. In the Page Type drop-down, select Documents.

Complete the Content Section

In the Content section, complete the following fields:

  1. Section: Choose which section you want the page to appear under, if different from the section you selected when adding the page.

  2. Page Name: Enter the name you want users to see for the page.

  3. Tag: Tags are predefined. Use the relevant tag only if required by your portal setup.

  4. Content: Add any introductory content if required.

Configure the Additional Options

In the Additional Options section, complete the following fields:

  1. Group Documents by Category?

    • Tick this box if you want documents to be grouped by category.

    • If this is not selected, documents appear in a simple list.

  2. Add new Document Category

    • Use this option if you want to create a new document category directly from this page setup.

  3. Linked Document Groups

    • Use this option to choose which linked document groups are shown on this page.

These settings control how documents are organised and displayed to users.

Set Permissions for the Page

In the Permissions section, complete the following fields:

  1. Page enabled?

    • Tick this box to show the page immediately to users.

  2. Section visible to all users?

    • Clear this box if you want to set specific School, Year Group, or User permissions.

This allows you to control exactly who can see the Documents page.

Save the Page

  1. Review the page settings.

  2. Click Save Changes.

The Documents page is now available to users according to the permissions and display options you selected.
